It all started in the spring of 1994. A group of Chinese parents held a meeting to discuss the possibility of creating an environment for their children. Their wish was to give their children an oppurtunity to keep in touch with their culture, and not to loose the Chinese language. Thus, that autumn, the CCCCA Chinese School opened it's doors, and a new community platform was born.
Admist the many language courses were also extracurricular activities. One of these was a dance class run by Lili Zhang, Yin Tang's mother.
Due to a tragic accident in 1999 that left her handicapped, Yin Tang resumed responsibilites for the class and it's annual performance roles.
Slowly, year by year, through many turn of faces and many exciting new experiences, what started out as a dance class has playfully been dubbed the "Yin Tang Dance Company" by it's friends.
Our mission is the same as our Chinese School. We wish to spread Chinese cultural cheer and share with you our spirit and love for dance.

Of course, Yin could not do everything alone. She is highly thankful to all the wonderful chaperones who have dedicated time and heart to keep the dances alive.
Special Thanks to:
Liang Hua (Grace and Tamara's mom) for substituting while Yin is away, also for help with new choreography and commitment.
Zheng Yuwen (Hailun's mom) for help with costuming.
Megan's mom and Julia's mom for continuous support and helping hands in self-made costuming.
